Summer Fun

Grand Lake is the largest natural body of water in Colorado. With nearby man-made Shadow Mountain and Granby Reservoirs, the tree recreational lakes offer more then 150 miles of scenic shoreline for camping, fishing or hiking.

Grand Lake provides visitors with many summer time activities including Fishing, Boating, Horseback riding, Mountain biking, Golfing, and Hunting.

The popular trout, rainbow, brown, brook and cutthroat, plus kokanee salmon are all found in the deep waters of Grand Lake


The Grand Lake Golf Course, and 18-hole, championship golf course at an altitude of 8,420ft, is a sharpshooter’s dream. Carved out of the woods, the rolling pine-tree-lined course offers a variety of spectacular golfing challenges.

  Sightseeing – Relaxing

You can also go sightseeing along the Trail Ridge Road. Trail Ridge Road covers 48 miles between Grand Lake on the west and Estes Park on the east. This spectacular road curves up across the tundra’s vastness to its high point at 12,183ft. The west entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and Trail Ridge Road s about 1-1/2 miles from Grand Lake.


Adams Falls. A popular hike suitable for all ages and abilities, the trail to the falls starts from the parking lot on the east end of Grand Lake.

Tonahutu Creek Trail. Stretching from Rocky Mountain National Park’s Kawuneeche Visitors Center to Grand Lake, this is an easy 2-mile trip that features beautiful mountain views.
